SRN I receiued letters from M^r Gravius from Bremen Iune. 5. ♀. h. 8. 50. a. m. 1635.

On y^e 22 Aprilis ☿ h. 6. Mat. he sayled frō Grauesend w^th good wind & fayre weather and ♃ about noone they mett with a ship w^ch made them strike sayles & weiwing them & not finding them to be Dunkerkers they let hem passe. that night the wynd turned & was quite Contrary to y^eir voyage & the sea very tempestuous y^t they were in great danger of being cast away. 3 ships were missed & lost in y^e storme w^ch were not come in 2 weekes after & so feared to be cast away in y^t storme.

On sunday after we beyond y^eir expectacon y^ey arriued at Bremen

Lyes yet at Bremen where he shall not continue here he knowes not how Long

Newenburgh being beseiged w^ch is a hindearance to all passage

Then only the great \& strongest/ Holds is taken by the Imperialists. & his freinds fled to Cassell

Desirith me to send him some Books y^t haue written in the defence of the \rites & ceremonies of the/ Church of England. & also an English Dictionary either Rider or another. And to deliuer them to M^r Alardin in Coven garden a goldsmyth the next doore to y^e golden fleece Taverne, who is as he sayes a very honest man. & he is to deliuer to the shipper frō Bremen who purposed to be in England agayne about midsomer is {sic} Name is Henricke Havinc Horst. this m^r Alardine hath a brother in Bremen who liues there.

M^r Tomanꝯ at his being in London did propound a marriage to him w^ch he refused then & does now desire me to let him know that he desires him to treate noe more of that subject or to perswade with the gentlewoman. so much he told m^r Toman then when he made the first motion./.
