RN The Earle of Ess set forw. frō plimmoth to wardꝭ {sic} towardꝭ his voyage bending to Cast Cales & so to his voyag onward. the 23 of Iuly. beinge satterday. 5. h. 30 mi auror & so went forward wth sp. winds that satterday & sunday. on munday following the skye clouded & misted & grew blacker & blacker. on tuesday the 26 of Iuly all the fore noone exceeding windꝭ hurling & tossing thē. to & fro. wc made thē brake there tops & b caused thē to cut there gabels & {left} adast agaynst our {vwne} {sic} reckꝭ wthinto {sic} two miles of Plimothe 1 a pinnes called the tobacco pipe & 1 3 hollanders ships & by leaking almost endangered the gener. ship. yt wth mutch a doe was saved & this winde drove thē back againe into almost wthin the harbour of plimouth on the 27 of Iuly fell arose an exceeding winde & a great tempest of reane as if heaven & yearth should goe togeathr the forenoone.
