Complaines of her heart a Cough

D^r Astly warden of Alsoules Colledge in Oxford 63. y. Apr. 13. 1. 20. ☾. p. m. 1629

1 Had a colde & an extreame Cough a weeke afore shouetyde {sic} w^ch did much shake & macerate his Body & was freed both of colde & Cough w^thin 3 weekes after. findes a defect in his digestion, in the liuer as hee feareth, w^ch heretofore hath much anoyed him.

2. is \hath beene/ very costiue (saueinge for 3 dayes last past) w^th some forcem^t thereto, yet his Body is temporate for heate & colde.

3 hee is not much thirsty saue at meales;

4 hee sleepes indifferent well, 5 or 6 houres in the night at beast.

5 his stomack seemeth to bee quieted when hee suppeth posset drinke

6 This is his Clymatericall yeare, beeinge 63 yeares at Alhollowetide last.

7 hee desires to knowe howe his Liuer may bee releeved & howe his Body may be loosened.

8 His was water ordinarily keepes in a reasonable lowe Coulour.

9 Hee feares y^t his Body (beeinge old & weake) will not much abide Phisike./

10 his dyet com̄only is veale & broth. & sometimes mutton, his drinke is small Be{e}re

RW M^ris Godwine of Cardington. y. 39. d. ♂ h: 9. 40 ant: m: Feb: 29. 1620. hath had a cold 3 weekꝭ: & a great cough: w^ch settled to her right |left| side: but is removed frō thence: Cryeth out of her heart: & sayth it swimmeth in water: is much plexed & troubled. cannot sleepe nor take rest for 4 nights now togither. her stomacke is so ill that she can not take anie thinge but posset ale & broths.

GJ Elsabeth Hayes of Turvy 43 y Octob. 18 ♂ ho. 9. 50 a m. 1603. |wind in the stomacke.| A dry Cough An Itche and as it were a dry scurfe. Hath a Childe of 2 yeere old sucking on her, the childe very poore & will take nothing but the brest can neither go nor speake: borne the saturday fortnight after midsomer 1601 betwene 8 & 9 at night quiet in the day but very vnquiett all night. very cold, swelled in the body of late. the mother nunquā habuit menstrua since she had this child.

TG Robert Stone of Grondon 24 y. Mert {sic}. 25 ♂ h. 12 mer. 1634. he was here about candlemes & had a vomite which did easy him for a time of his cough, but now he cougheth not so much, but hath a constant paine on his right breast, which will not give him leave to cough.
