This M^r Coleby had taken away the Cōons, and done the poore wrong. vpon his death bed he charged his wyfe that she should restore it and make amendꝭ But she being given to pride and excesse neglected the formance of her husbandꝭ will Since w^ch tyme she maryed one M^r W^m Grimston who being gone to London and having layen there a while

vpon Saturday last was sixe weekes as his servauntꝭ at Beckles were at supper before night they hard the walking of one in the hall but sawe nothing but that there were stones and brickebattes throwen amongst then they not knowing from whence they should come were greatly amased.

The butler being very fearfull rose and went into his M^rs Chamber where he was no sooner entred but that they heard the flinging of stones at the chamber windowe as though it had broken all the glasse when it ceased they drue aside the Curtaynes and the glasse was whole, they had no sooner drawn the Curtaynes before the window again but that the stones flewe at it agayne After a while they heard a great grone and a noyse as if it would have broken downe the gatehouse and so it deted wherevpon the gentlewoman forsook her howse for a while &c
