Bought 3 ells of canvas for Robt to make my Dublet 1596 the 20 of Decemb in m’ 30 p 12/ cost 3_s^s.

A note about a dream.

Several cryptic jottings including ‘he will copell cok to deliuer me my bockꝭ’, ‘Slathorn’, and ‘Dority for her apron’’.

Upside down at the bottom, mainly in the bottom right quadrant but partly in the bottom left: a set of calculations towards generating astrological charts, though nothing that obviously relates to the entries on this page.

A paragraph on the significance for men’s drunkenness of various astrological signs, then a deleted passage of three further paragraphs on the astrological signs indicating whether a flux is downwards or upwards. These almost certainly do not relate to either the entry above (CASE828) or the entry to the left (CASE827).

In another hand, a couplet in Welsh, with what is presumably an English translation (‘Well were he that were in his grave/ or could for ij yeres playe the foxe as it were in a cave’), other equally enigmatic verses in Latin and English, and a prose paragraph in English, and a prose paragraph in Welsh followed by a translation in English.

These pages are blank but for the heading ‘1596’ at the top of each page.

A deleted note reading: ‘Ihon Browne m^r Walkers man borowed vpon a Iack – xvj^ss. \the 11 of Decemb ♄ p m’ 20 p 3/ to fetch yt Again 10 Dais hence’, with a further note added below (presumably at the time of the deletion): ‘paid the 7 of Ianiary 1597’. Then ‘Atkins Arested at \15 p/ 3 p m’ the 15 Dec’ Chargꝭ for Aresting of Atkins’ and a list of expenses.
