In another hand, a couplet in Welsh, with what is presumably an English translation (‘Well were he that were in his grave/ or could for ij yeres playe the foxe as it were in a cave’), other equally enigmatic verses in Latin and English, and a prose paragraph in English, and a prose paragraph in Welsh followed by a translation in English.

A deleted note reading: ‘Ihon Browne mr Walkers man borowed vpon a Iack – xvjss. \the 11 of Decemb p m’ 20 p 3/ to fetch yt Again 10 Dais hence’, with a further note added below (presumably at the time of the deletion): ‘paid the 7 of Ianiary 1597’. Then ‘Atkins Arested at \15 p/ 3 p m’ the 15 Dec’ Charg for Aresting of Atkins’ and a list of expenses.
