his grond is haunted & treasure is hid there as the report goeth.
there is hard mutch musicke & melodye. |this Gryphen Crocker dwelleth in yt house hath seene lightꝭ.| the son of Elsborough 16|7||8| y sinc delivered a note out of a booke vnto Henry Gynger yt now dwelleth at wiggynto in hartford sheere an old man of 80 yeres. as followeth.
Elsborough church & litle Kymble church of the right syde of the way betw even against the castle hill ther lyethe of gold & sylver & Iewels brasse & pewter a weane load layd in by lord Everet knotsby & his man at the conquest this was all yt was delivered him in a note wch he lost willing him to enquire furthr for he him selfe saw often a great light wch hath bene seene since by many sinc his death. & sometymes there will appeare a thing leeke a blacke hogge & very lately seene a \white/ catt wth a marvelous long & great teale wch rāne into a pond musick hard lately by Crockwell & his wife & children.
Henry Ginger wth in those 2 yeres when some came to seek this treasure saw a white bullocke wthout ye eares & hornes. & others saw a feare gentlewomā. a lyon an Antlop a fyer {sic} wth a gray cloke cast vppō his shoulders. but none could fynd the treasure./
