Apr. 25. vppon S^t Markes Day being satterday betwixt 6 & 7 in the morning. was first taken. Apr. 25. die ♄ hor 6. 30. ant m. 160i. betwixt 3 & 4 aft^r noone could not styrre & the sunday morning could not speake

he was blasted in a garden.¹

RN My Cosen Marsh the older sent me a kind letter to signify y^t after my clyster & blood letting she was well for 4 days & then payned as before in her hed & arme so greevously betwixt 4 & 5 p m cōnoly {sic} Sept 14. ♀ h. 5. 30 p m 1627 she sent to Cambridg to M^r Crane he gave her a pils|l| & also a clyster

had the horse leaches & they were {illeg} naught.

A Great winde runinge vp & downe sometimes betweene the Skin, sometimes in all places of the Body, sometimes in y^e heade & sometimes swellinge downe into the twist & into the Codds, as yf hee were bursten, a great rumblinge & noise in the gutts, & is worst at the full of the Moone: many Phisitians haue tryed but none could doe him good y^e winde is soe stronge, & p^rualent. hee desireth Counsell & helpe yf God bee soe pleased.

RN Iohn Tisam Tiso. \of Kempsō./ almost 60 y. troubled w^th a great his payne s {sic} in his head w^th a shooting: & a swelling in his legs & nose w^th an it|n|tollerab: shooting & a horrib. deadly payne in his teethe. septemb. 20. die ♃ ♄ {sic}. 11. 45. ant m. 1599.

RN Goodman \Edward/ Banes of Newport 52. for a payne & ache in his knees & to his back & so to his head & the flesh about the knees is cōsumed. hot ther{s}about but cold in his feete & & benūmed about his thighes & hath scarc any feele in them. not able to goe. lyeth about the sinewes veines & hām strings & not in the flesh. the 20 of March. die ♃ h. 12. 20/ 1600

about cristmas face & hands mutch swelled as big as two stomack weake cā scarc keepe any thing. I {se}aled blood onc sinc y^t mutch payned in his head & mēbers at the end of making water it prickes & throbs w^th extreme payne

feareth an vlcer for it is as matter y^t cōmeth frō him & maketh it often. 4 tymes in an houre it hindereth slepe.

RN Mathew Knigh|ft|en of Lowton 53. y. sick this satterd. last 3 weekes. a red water & full of rags.

M^r Knifton of Lowton 55 yeres old sick this 3 weekes {illeg} sunday last first in his stomack w^th an extreeme cold w^c tooke a way his stomack ache in the head neck & legs sweateth div^rse times & after troubled w^th an itch as exceeded greatly onc in two or 3 days to grounde. nev^r vomiteth. the 3 of Ian. die ☿ h. 9. 15. 1598. {sic} 1599. bad head greefe taken {in} lawe.

RN Rich Kerby Miller of Newport 60 \56/ yeres old. long & grevously sick {filiu}s  patre \{servus}  Domino/ cū euꝯ {sic} consensu it hath held this 4 yeres by fits but this quarter of this yere held him sorely & keepeth home some days his bed in his fit & then abroad. a payne in his hart w^th a sighing black coloured very fat of his face but w^th this sicknes shrunk in his bodye & legs. M^r yarrow for him novemb. {sic} 1 Decēb. die ♀ h. 10. 15. 1598¹

RN Ihone Wallbanck of Cosgrave 50 yeres old for her hed & a paine vnd^r her right side. very drye in her hands full of scales. & motes otherwise a good water. at 3. 15. 1599

RN M^r Will: Co{l|e|}lles Colles of Parke berrye of 58 troubled sick this i6 yeres & hath had the Counsell of the most exte phisitions troubled w^th a windy cause as he sayth cōming from his backe by a great heate & obstruction from my liver. also w^th a bad stomacke elevating winde into my hed. w^ch causeth gydines or streming in my head w^ch cometh as he thinketh by the ascending vp of bad & melancholy humours & w^th a shaking in my left hand mightely as it were the palsye but always very hotte. nowe of late w^th the brevity of wind in my stomacke & chest & lately w^th a mūmnes {sic} & tinckling in my hands. lips & sydes & face. this 15 of may. die ♂ h. 4. 45. p m. 1599.
